I was excited for this thread to start! Too much negative energy at the end of tournament, positive feedback / constructive criticism is due!
First of all, overall, fantastic job CCP and tournament team. This year was an awesome combination of fresh ideas that paid dividends and the application of lessons learned that paid off even more. The number one improvement IMO this year was the expert panel. They all knew what they were talking about but didn't try to comment on things beyond their knowledge if they came up. They also all worked well on camera which is actually very important in terms of how enjoyable it is to watch. A few individual critiques:
Soundwave:
A few less "Uh"s if possible. I think it is part of your on camera speech pattern, and not that you actually don't know what you are going to say, but there were just a few too many, to the point that I noticed and it was a bit distracting. Not a huge deal really, and otherwise, you once again worked great as the anchor for this event.
Shadoo:
I don't think I have a single. Very funny guy, but mostly, you obviously brought probably the most extensive amount of first hand knowledge on tournament tactics and mechanics.
Raivi:
Also extremely knowledgeable. I think the only thing I had about you was commentating timing basically, but there weren't really any problems once you all had the first day under your belt.
Kil2:
Definitely having experience on the team is a good thing. You and Soundwave having been there for 3 or 4 years or whatever is fantastic. You know how things should flow, and once in a while when your brains are working, you pull out cool factoids about past tournaments, and that kind of stuff adds another dimension that makes this event awesome.
MichaelBolton:
They gave you a lot of crap maybe, but you really were great on camera and keeping the flow going.
Zastrow:
Again, really great on camera which makes a big difference. Your extensive knowledge of handing out medals was obviously key =P. Only criticism for you would probably be to let off a bit to control every conversation. Your input is always good, but you seem to want to win every conversation, and a lot of the time that isn't the point. Lots of people do this, and just like with the rest of the guys on the team, you didn't do anything that detracted from the overall entertainment, but just something to think about next time.
CCP Sunset:
Good job overall, especially for being your first time on. Only feedback would be to loosen up a bit.
CCP devs:
Good job overall, although some didn't seem to interested in the tourney. Also, having devs that talk more about content that might effect the tourney would be cool. Talking about Dust514 is fine, we all know thats the big project right now, but get some talking about PVP. If nothing is in development to tweak stuff or do new stuff, well, get something in development=P
CCP Char-Loxy:
You're the man. Nice setup in that PIP at the end.
Great job guys. Excited for next year already (name one of the Caldari ships "pterodactyl")
